TTB 156: Hiking 1,200 Miles Along the Ice Age Trail
Emily Ford gathered some essential belongings, her dog Diggins, and set out on a 1,200 mile hike in the dead of a Wisconsin winter along the Ice Age Trail. Taking a total of 69 days from start to finish, @emilyontrail spent a majority of this time callusing her mind and body. Fighting boredom, loneliness, frozen clothing, deep snow, and gas station meals. Our conversation today covered her preparation for the trip, the enlightening experience of being deeply immersed in nature for an extended period of time, and the mental fortitude required to take that first step.
